We are a small club of 13 members, three of whom are new within the last year.  This year our President is arranging a number of smaller charity events.  The first was a very successful Halloween supper.  We aim for a social event once a month, which might be a meal out, cinema trip or others as suggested by members.

Upcoming Events:

Burns Supper
Quiz evening in aid of ISO Charity, Shelterbox
Murder Mystery Evening

Period Poverty

With Period Poverty in mind, members collected and donated a number of feminine hygiene products to two local secondary schools in Great Baddow, both of which were very grateful to receive them.

Battle of the Beetles: FA Cup

Monday 29th October saw five members of Chelmer Bridge heading along the A12 to Harwich and Dovercourt, a place not normally visited by them, to meet members of Harwich and Dovercourt Inner Wheel, members they would not normally come across, to play in the first round of this year’s FA Cup. The challenge offered was a game of Beetle Drive. Amazingly, they concluded the first set of games with a draw so a decider was played with the ladies of Harwich and Dovercourt winning by one point! Chelmer Bridge, one of last year’s finalists, were disappointed not to have gone further in the competition but they had enjoyed a fun filled afternoon with lots of laughter, tea and delicious cakes at the President’s home.

Many thanks to the ladies of Harwich and Dovercourt who made us so welcome and best wishes for the next stage.
