Aga Khan Foundation
After a chance Encounter with the CEO of the Aga Khan Foundation, Nazreen, it led to Inner Wheel sponsoring a walker and a runner on 14th -16th April at Nottingham University. The event was to support a safe water project in Tajikistan. The foundation would work with100 communities to construct safe water supply systems and communal toilets . This would significantly reduce waterborne diseases and mortality to benefit 75,000 people, including children. Significantly, the project would empower women, by reducing the labour burden of collecting water, seen as their responsibility, so allowing time for income generating activities.
